Bio

Raquel de Souza (pronounced De-So-ZAH) is a singer, songwriter and actress from NY. In addition, she is the front woman for NY’s rising country rock band Raquel & The Wildflowers.

Raquel entered the country music scene by releasing her debut single “Run towards the Highway” with a music video. The song won a ReverbNation contest and charted #32 on DRT Top 50 Country AirPlay charts (2018) alongside global country stars such as Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan. Soon after, Raquel and her bandmates Cat Lines (fiddle) and Luis Cruz (Guitar) formed a new group name in 2019; Raquel & The Wildflowers. 

Raquel & The Wildflowers previously performed at Country Fest 2021 with headlining artists Dierk's Bentley, Kane Brown, and Thomas Rhett, MUSIK FEST 2021 with headlining artists such as Darius Rucker, ZEDD, Sam Hunt, KT Tunstall, opened for multi-platinum artist Andy Grammer, award winning bands and more. 

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the band has been performing virtually. Some notable virtual performances include NY's Country 94.7 FM for Raquel’s song “Money Ain’t Sane”, Central NY #1 Country station Big Frog, MD Country Station 94.7WDSD, Freedom Park “QuaranTunes” Summer Series and iHeart Radio KISS FM.

Raquel is currently working on new music and continues to tour with her band.
